Sporting Gijon

Here we have some of the rarest figures Corinthian ever released, the infamous Sporting Gijon set!!!


There are 4 figures for Gijon, all of whom are first time sculpts and would never be released again, the 4 players are Yuri Nikiforov, Igor Lediakhov, Alberto Tomas and goal keeper Juan Carlos Ablanedo.


All 4 remain as elusive now as they ever have, rarity wise they are up there with any Corinthian figure you wish to name and the reason for there rarity is a combination of things, low production volume, issues with figure distribution and lack of demand in the country of release.


Corinthian never managed to acquire any of the stock to be sold over in the UK, which they did with other ranges they released in Europe. It is hard not to over state just how rare the set are, in over 20 years I can literally count on my hand the amount of times I have seen them for sale, whether that was loose or in blister, it just never happens. The 4 pack is seen by many as a holy grail of 4 packs and I know only a handful of collector's who are fortunate enough to have one in their personal collections.


All were released in blister pack and coming with collector card, there was also a 4 figure pack released.
