Corinthian wanted to reward it's loyal collector club members and treat them to something special at Christmas time, so the ProStars Christmas Special was produced.
This range was not available in shops and was produced purely to be given to all collector club members at Christmas time. The figure was released as a single blister pack, along with collector card and prodcued on a specially designed backing card, with information on the player on the back of the blister pack.
In total therr were 5 Corinthian ProStars Christmas special edition figures released, the first was Luis Figo in the Portugal away kit, which was delivered to collector club members in December 2000. Teddy Sheringham in the Manchester United home kit was the 2001 edition, with the player being in a long sleeve shirt. Ronaldo was released in the Brazil home kit he wore in the World Cup final, a fitting tribute to his achievement, this was the 2002 release.
The 2003 edition was incredibly popular and much anticipated, as it was Maradona in his Argentina home kit, this was the perfect Christmas present for all collectors. The final Christmas special edition was a very fine choice, Fabio Capello was chosen and released as the 2004 Christmas special, the first and only time he would be released as a Corinthian ProStars figure.
This was a great range of limited edition figures and gave collectors another incentive to become a club member.
