Blister Pack:

s23 blister

Here is a single blister pack from Prostars Series 23.

Corinthian continued to use the generic packaging for the standard Prostars range, with the company logo in the left corner and the series number in the opposite corner.

Prostars series 23 made history by being the first Prostars series to feature a Blackburn Rovers player, we had not seen players from Ewood Park since the FAPL Collection range back in 1996! The player chosen was Lorenzo Amoruso.
The best seller from this series was of course the much anticipated first series release of the 'winker' himself Cristiano Ronaldo. The Ronaldo was also made in the highest volume, with over 7,000 blister being produced

Other good sellers were the release of Ronaldino in the Barcelona home kit and Nedved in the Juventus kit, with interest in Nedved being mostly from collectors in Japan.

The blister made in the lowest volume was a Celtic player, as it was in series 22, this time it was Johan Mjallby, with just 1,649 blisters of him being produced, a very small number indeed.

 Platinum Pack:

s23 platinum

Here is a Platinum pack from Prostars Series 23.

These packs featured the now established backing card desding as first seen in Prostars series 15, with the figures themselves also having the bases painted Silver, to further enhance the collectability of these very limited packs.

Platinum packs are seen as Corinthian's premier collectors product and were not available for direct sale. The only way to get these Platinum packs was buy spending a certain amount with Corinthian on thier products.

The most sought after Platinum from this series in a Platinum pack is the Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United home kit. This Platinum has changed hands for well over £25.

Other sought after Platinums from this series are the Ronaldinho and Nedved, both of those have sold for over £20.

Collector Cards

Here is a collector card from Prostars Series 23.

Corinthian changed the appearance and layout of the collector cards from series 21 onwards. They continued to use the same quality, high gloss card but made a change to the back of the card.

Corinthian now printed how many of each blister pack had been produced and also stamped each collector card with a unique issue number. This made each blister pack unique and meant collectors went chasing the low numbered blister packs with the ones stamped 0001 being the most coverted and indeed the most valuable.

From the card opposite you can see the changes made to the cards and how they differ from those used in the early Prostars series. The top box contains the players name, club and the figures collector number. The figure image of course dominates the card and the series box can found next to the figure.

You could also buy the figures direct from Corinthian in sachet with card format only, however the blister packs could only be bought from a mail order stockist or via one of Corinthian's official resellers. If you purchased the figures in sachet format from Corinthian the collectors cards did not feature the production quantity information on the reverse of the card, nor were they indiviually issue stamped, instead you had the figure image on both sides of the card. So if you collect the figure and collector card and are buying the figure with card on the secondary market, it is worth asking which collector card verison accompanies the figure.
