Glasgow Rangers had a total of 9 figures released in the 'SPL Headliners' range, second in amount only to bitter rivals Celtic.
We were again treated to many first time sculpts, infact only Gascoigne wasa repaint, the rest were brand new figures and all except for Laudrup have never been released again.
There was something very unusual about thise set and that is the squad numbers. Both Gascoigne and Durrant were released with number '8' on the back of their shirt! It was not unheard of for Corinthian to change squad numbers during a series release, they did this a few times in a bid to keep the figures 'bang upto date.' However.these two figures were released at the same time in February 1996 during the same season of course so i am at a loss as to why two players were released with the same squad number.
There was another number discrepency in this set, both McCall and Steven were released wearing the number '7' shirt. McCall was released first in February 1996 with Steven a little while later in June of 96, but that still does not explain why he was released in the 95/96 kit wearing the number '7' shirt. Answears on a postcard please!
These figures vary quite significantly in terms of value. The most commonly found figure is Gascoigne and you can acquire him for around the 50p mark, even in blister! The rest can be added for around the same price of £5-10 with the exception being Ferguson who is by far the rarest of the bunch and may set you back £20.
